Overview
For this new Fuso 8x4 Bridge Truck destined for Transport for NSW, the requirement was clear: the vehicle needed to enter service fully equipped, compliant, and ready to operate from day one. Loadmass supplied and installed the LM300 On-Board Mass tablet system as part of the vehicle's build process, working alongside body builder Capital Body Works to ensure a clean, integrated installation before the truck left the yard.
The Challenge
Government and infrastructure fleet operators face a compliance environment that leaves little room for error. Heavy vehicles used in infrastructure applications carry varied loads across shifting conditions, road materials, construction equipment, and maintenance supplies. Without accurate, real-time weight data in the cab, drivers are left to estimate their load, creating the potential for overloading.
The Outcome
The completed vehicle was delivered to Transport for NSW fully fitted, calibrated and ready for immediate operational use. By integrating the OBM system at the point of build rather than as a retrofit, the process was streamlined for all parties. The body builder, truck dealer, and Loadmass team worked through the installation in sequence, and the finished vehicle reflected a clean, professional result with no visible aftermarket additions.
